How it works, and what to check before booking
- “At airport” or “with shuttle”. Check whether pick-up is in the terminal or at a nearby site with a shuttle. It changes the time on arrival and on return.
- Deposit and excess. Almost all block a deposit on your card; the amount and the insurance cover vary a lot from one to another.
- Fuel. Full-to-full is fairest; photograph the car before leaving.
- Book in advance. In high season the price rises and available cars drop; booking ahead is a lot cheaper.
